Delfin Amazon Cruises this year is offering three itineraries featuring wildlife experts.

The experts are National Geographic Explorers Carmen Chavez and Kenneth Feeley, wildlife photographer Walter Wust and pink river dolphin specialist Joanna Alfaro.

Cruises will operate on the 22-cabin Delfin III.

The four-night cruise with Wust departs July 9 from Iquitos and sails on the Pacaya, Ucayali and Yarapa rivers.

Guests will be immersed in the Amazon's ecosystem and capture its beauty through a camera lens alongside Wust, who will host walking tours, onboard lectures, wildlife-spotting excursions, birdwatching expeditions and photography workshops.

On July 27, the three-night cruise with Chavez and Feeley will depart. Both are tropical rainforest conservation experts who will discuss the Amazon rainforest's biodiversity and the efforts to protect it through lectures and Q&A discussions along with wildlife excursions with local guides.

On Nov. 19, guests will learn about the endangered pink river dolphin, the factors threatening its existence and the need for more research of this aquatic species. Guests will learn how to spot and identify the two different types of dolphins on the Amazon, while participating in Alfaro's research firsthand as she deploys sea pods to collect and record the sounds of dolphins and to record temperatures in water where dolphins are spotted.

Rates for the Delfin III's three-night itineraries begin at $3,700 per person and at $4,900 per person for four-night itineraries.
