Disney will launch cruises from Japan starting in 2029 on a newbuild sister ship to the Disney Wish.
The ship, as yet unnamed, will be built and operated by the Oriental Land Co., which owns and operates Tokyo Disney Resort. It will be based in Japan and will offer sailings targeted to both residents and visitors to Japan.
The ship will be built by Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, with designs created by Walt Disney Imagineering, and is expected to be about 140,000 gross tons and have about 1,250 cabins. It will feature many venues and experiences from the Wish, along with
certain modifications designed with Japanese guests in mind, Disney said.
