The Virgin Hotels New York City has quietly opened its doors ahead of an official grand opening this spring.
The 460-room hotel, located within a 39-story tower at 1227 Broadway, offers accommodations with floor-to-ceiling windows, extra-large showers and amenities like a red Smeg mini-fridge, a smart TV and a yoga mat.
Most rooms range from 277 to 770 square feet in size, while the hotel's top-tier Sir Richard's Flat suite spans 2,800 square feet across the 35th and 36th floors.
Anchoring the property's third and fourth floors is Everdene, a restaurant and bar serving sharable plates and craft cocktails. The venue has indoor and outdoor space, as well as daybed and stadium-style seating designed to encourage "mingling."
Co-located on the fourth floor is a seasonal deck, heated pool and indoor lounge space known as the Pool Club, which similarly showcases a menu of shared dishes and cocktails. Access to the Pool Club is available exclusively to overnight guests.
The fourth floor also will be home to an Italian- and Latin-inspired fine-dining restaurant, which is expected to make its debut in the coming months.
The Sky Lounge, an event space with an outdoor observation deck, is located on the hotel's 38th floor. A cocktail bar available for private events, which overlooks the Empire State Building, is perched on the 39th floor.
The Virgin Hotels New York City is the seventh hotel in Virgin's portfolio, joining locations in Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, New Orleans, Las Vegas and Edinburgh, Scotland.
An eighth hotel is expected to open in Glasgow later this year.
