Windstar Cruises plans to maintain a year-round presence in the Mediterranean in 2025 after receiving positive feedback from guests about this winter's last-minute Med sailings.

The Star Legend is currently sailing between Rome and Barcelona after Windstar scrapped the ship's Middle East itineraries because of the war in Gaza and Israel.

Noting an influx of bookings when it redeployed the ship, Windstar will offer five Med itineraries next winter, including some longer voyages and overnight stays in port, with an opportunity to string together back-to-back sailings.

The new itineraries include five 8-day sailings from Rome to Venice with calls that include overnights in Dubrovnik (Croatia) and Venice; an eight-day cruise from Athens to Rome; four 9-day roundtrip sailings out of Barcelona with a focus on Spain with overnights in Barcelona and Malaga; and an 8-day Croatia and Greece itinerary sailing from Venice to Athens.

Windstar will also sail a Christmas cruise from Rome to Barcelona on Dec. 23 with an overnight in Livorno for an opportunity to attend Christmas Eve mass at the Duomo.

Windstar's New Year's cruise on the Star Legend will sail roundtrip from Barcelona on Dec. 30 with New Year's Eve spent overnight in Palma, Mallorca, which Windstar called "one of Europe's ultimate party meccas."
