The Magellan Awards deadline has been extended to Aug. 16 following an overwhelming request for more time to complete entry materials.
"We are thrilled over the enthusiasm for the Magellan Awards this year. The most talented professionals in the industry are constantly working to develop new programs, inventive and engaging marketing strategies and new products to expand their audience and create incredible experiences for travelers," said Mary Pat Sullivan, executive vice president of marketing and partnerships for Travel Weekly and the Northstar Travel Group. " By extending the deadline we're ensuring every hardworking professional in the travel industry has an opportunity to showcase their work."
The Magellan Awards honor outstanding design, marketing and services in a broad range of industry segments including Airlines and Airports, Cruise Lines, Ground Transportation, Hospitality, Travel Services, Travel Destinations, Travel Advisors, Travel Agencies, and Tour Operators. Several new categories have been added for this year to reflect the ever-changing industry.
The Magellan Awards are judged and overseen by a one-of-a-kind panel of top travel professionals representing accomplished leaders from throughout the industry. In determining winners, entries do not compete with one another, instead they are judged against a standard of excellence developed over the long history of Travel Weekly. To uphold this high standard of excellence, a category may have multiple winners, or may have no winners at all.
