The Fontainebleau Las Vegas will become the epicenter of the increasingly popular sport of pickleball this summer.
In addition to hosting the first Professional Pickleball Association Tour Las Vegas Pickleball Cup Aug. 27 to Sept. 1, the resort will stage an amateur event, expected to draw about 1,000 players of all ages and skill levels from throughout the country.
The six-day pro tournament, to be held in the 105,000-square-foot Royal Ballroom, will feature the world's best professional pickleball players, including Ben Johns, Anna Leigh Waters, Jack Sock and Genie Bouchard.
Players looking to compete in the amateur event can register online. Registration is $95 with a $40 event fee per each event entry. Tickets to view the event are also on sale at the site, starting at $25, with upgrades available for courtside and VIP seats. The Fontainebleau is offering a special room rate for those attending the pro tournament or participating in the amateur event. The booking code will be available with ticket purchase or in the amateur tournament registration confirmation.
