Only one of those 18, daily service between Boise, Idaho, and Orange County Airport launching Dec. 19, will be year-round. The carrier's four new daily winter seasonal routes will connect Fresno, Calif., with Guadalajara, Mexico, from Dec. 3 to Feb. 12; San Diego with Reno, Nev., between Dec. 19 and April 21; Sacramento, Calif., with Tucson, Ariz., between Jan. 6 and April 21; and Los Angeles with Kelowna, B.C., between Dec. 19 and March 17. Kelowna provides access to the nearby ski resorts SilverStar and Big White.
Other less-than-daily offerings announced by Alaska include weekly routes next winter to Liberia, Costa Rica, from Seattle and San Francisco.
The carrier will also add four-times-weekly service to Puerto Vallarta from New York JFK and weekly service to Puerto Vallarta from St. Louis, Kansas City and Sacramento.
In addition, Sacramento will get five-times-weekly service to Los Cabos from Jan. 6 to April 21, while Kansas City will have weekly Cancun flights on Alaska from Jan. 18 through June 7.
Orlando is another warm-weather location in Alaska's crosshairs. The carrier will introduce four-times-weekly flights to the theme park capital from Sacramento next winter and three-times-weekly service from Boise.
Finally, the airline will connect Boise with Bozeman, Mont., five-times a week between Dec. 19 and March 17.
